I went to Indonesia with a supply of ARV for 3 months. The customs officer in Indonesia asked me about the medicines, when I showed the prescription from my clinic indicating it is life dependent medication, they let me bring it in without issues.
ARV treatment is not available in pharmacies, so when my 3 month supply was almost up, I approached an NGO. While they were able to help me get treatment for one month, health workers at the hospital explained that I needed a long stay permit to access treatment. I have faced tons of bricks of bureaucracy for a simple refill.
