The Research Brigade (BR) of the Compagnie de Touba stopped a network of alleged homosexuals operating between the Holy City and Mbacké. The operation, conducted on Thursday, February 12, resulted in the arrest of five individuals, including one carrying the HIV/AIDS virus, informs Seneweb.
The net raid began in Touba with the arrest of A.D. (36 years old), before continuing in Mbacké where a metal carpenter (M.L.), a tailor (K.N.) and a merchant (B.D.) were picked up by investigators.
During the searches, the gendarmes seized condoms, lubricant and other elements deemed compromising.
According to sources close to the investigation, the defendants acknowledged the facts during their interrogation. They are currently being taken into custody for several serious charges, including association of criminals, acts against nature and endangering the lives of others due to voluntary transmission of HIV.
The Public Prosecutor at the Diourbel High Court was seized of the case, while the gendarmerie continues its investigations to find other suspects on the run.

La Brigade de Recherches (BR) de la Compagnie de Touba a porté un coup d’arrêt à un réseau de présumés homosexuels opérant entre la Ville Sainte et Mbacké. L’opération, menée ce jeudi 12 février, a abouti à l’interpellation de cinq individus, dont un porteur du virus du VIH/Sida, renseigne Seneweb.
Le coup de filet a débuté à Touba avec l’arrestation de A.D. (36 ans), avant de se poursuivre à Mbacké où un menuisier métallique (M.L.), un tailleur (K.N.) et un commerçant (B.D.) ont été cueillis par les enquêteurs.
Lors des perquisitions, les gendarmes ont saisi des préservatifs, du lubrifiant ainsi que d’autres éléments jugés compromettants.
Selon des sources proches de l’enquête, les mis en cause auraient reconnu les faits lors de leur interrogatoire. Ils sont actuellement placés en garde à vue pour plusieurs chefs d’accusation graves, notamment association de malfaiteurs, actes contre nature et mise en danger de la vie d’autrui en raison de la transmission volontaire du VIH.
Le procureur de la République près le Tribunal de Grande Instance de Diourbel a été saisi de l’affaire, tandis que la gendarmerie poursuit ses investigations pour retrouver d’autres suspects en fuite.
