Kuzbassovets sentenced for infection of a cohabitant with HIV
The Izhmorskiy District Court sentenced a 35-year-old local resident who had concealed his HIV-positive status from his cohabitant, as a result of which she was infected.
A 36-year-old resident of the village of Izhmorsky reported to the police that her cohabitant had infected her with HIV, the press service of the main department of the Russian Interior Ministry in the Kemerovo region reported.
According to the woman, she learned about her new diagnosis from the results of an examination conducted after the disease. It turned out that her cohabitant was registered in a medical institution with a similar disease.
According to Russian law, the man was obliged to inform his cohabitant about his disease, but he did not do so. As a result, a criminal case was initiated against him under Article 122 of the Russian Criminal Code “Infection with HIV infection”. During the interrogation, the defendant admitted his guilt and explained that he was hiding his HIV status for fear of publicity.
The Izhmorsky District Court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months of suspended imprisonment.
Кузбассовец получил срок за заражение сожительницы ВИЧ-инфекцией
Ижморский районный суд вынес приговор 35-летнему местному жителю, который скрыл от своей сожительницы положительный ВИЧ-статус, в результате чего та была заражена.
В полицию обратилась 36-летняя жительница пгт. Ижморский с заявлением о том, что сожитель заразил ее ВИЧ-инфекцией, сообщает пресс-служба главного управления МВД России по Кемеровской области.
По словам женщины, о своем новом диагнозе она узнала из результатов обследования, проведенного после перенесенной болезни. Выяснилось, что ее сожитель состоял на учете в медучреждении с аналогичным заболеванием.
По российскому законодательству, мужчина был обязан сообщить о своем заболевании сожительнице, однако он этого не сделал. В результате в отношении него было возбуждено уголовное дело по статье 122 УК РФ “Заражение ВИЧ-инфекцией”. В ходе дознания фигурант признал свою вину и пояснил, что скрывал свой ВИЧ-статус из-за боязни огласки.
Ижморский районный суд признал фигуранта виновным и назначил ему наказание в виде 2 лет 6 месяцев условного лишения свободы.
