
Sex offender arrested in court on new charges including exposing another person to HIV
A registered sex offender who was arrested July 30 and charged with five felonies, including having simultaneous possession of guns and drugs, appeared during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division on August 11.
While he was in court, he was arrested on new charges of willfully exposing another person to HIV. The state is also seeking a sentence enhancement under provisions of the Habitual Criminal Act. The bond shown for the new charges is $25,000.
The state had recently obtained a search warrant to draw blood from him for the purpose of testing specifically for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Hepatitis.
