On July 17, 2026, the Namangan City Court reviewed a criminal case in a closed judicial session. The defendant was initially apprehended on April 24, 2026, under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The court established that the defendant tested positive for HIV on May 8, 2024. She was subsequently logged under electronic serial number 24/1445 by the Republican AIDS Center and placed under dispensary supervision by the Namangan Regional AIDS Center.
Despite receiving formal, written warnings regarding the criminal liability for exposing third parties to the infection, the defendant engaged in repeated, unprotected sexual relations from December 2025 to April 2026 at a residence in the Davlatobod district. Medical testing conducted on the victim on April 3, 2026, yielded negative results for the presence of the infection.
The court found the defendant guilty of the charges under Article 113, Part 4 of the Criminal Code. In determining the penalty, the court noted the complete absence of statutory aggravating factors under Article 56. Mitigating elements under Article 55 were acknowledged, including her unconditional admission of guilt, sincere remorse, lack of prior convictions, gender, and the fact that the victim sustained no transmission and formally renounced any civil claims. Applying Article 57 of the Criminal Code, the judge reduced the penalty below the statutory minimum baseline of imprisonment.
She was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
