The defendant never told the woman he had the virus.

A man was accused by the Public Ministry (MP) of offenses to serious qualified physical integrity, after infecting his partner with the immunodeficiency virus (HIV), said Monday the District Attorney General of Porto (PGD).

According to the prosecution of the MP, quoted on the official page of the PGD, the accused, who had been infected with HIV since at least 2003, maintained a loving relationship with the victim, having lived with her from February to November 2015 in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the district of Porto, as if they were husband and wife.

During this period, the defendant never told the woman that he had HIV and, even when asked, he denied it, he says.

Because of the sexual relationship between them, the woman became infected with the virus, the prosecution maintains.
