Investigators in Cherepovets have concluded their investigation into a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against a 39-year-old man who infected a woman with the human immunodeficiency virus. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Vologda Region on 1 July.
Whilst investigating another offence under Articles 132 and 133 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sexual assault) committed by the suspect, law enforcement officers established that the accused had engaged in sexual intercourse with an uninfected local woman between 2019 and May 2023.
As a result, the victim contracted HIV. She learnt of the offence from the police.
” Law enforcement officers carried out an investigation, which resulted in the acquisition of medical documents confirming that the accused had been diagnosed with “HIV infection”, as well as evidence that, prior to her contact with the accused, the victim had not been registered with the relevant medical institutions and had not been diagnosed with any condition related to the human immunodeficiency virus, ” – added the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The materials of the criminal case have been forwarded to the court for consideration on the merits.

Дознаватели Череповца завершили расследование уголовного дела по ч. 2 ст. 122 УК РФ в отношении 39-летнего мужчины, который заразил женщину вирусом иммунодефицита человека. Об этом сообщили в УМВД России по Вологодской области 1 июля.
Когда правоохранители расследовали другое преступление по ст. 132 и ст. 133 УК РФ (насильственные действия сексуального характера), совершенное фигурантом, они установили, что обвиняемый вступил в половой контакт с незараженной местной жительницей в период с 2019 года по май 2023-го. В результате потерпевшая заразилась ВИЧ-инфекцией. О преступлении она узнала от полицейских.
“Сотрудниками правоохранительных органов была проведена проверка, в результате которой были получены медицинские документы, подтверждающие наличие у обвиняемого диагноза “ВИЧ-инфекция”, а также данные о том, что потерпевшая до момента контакта с обвиняемым не состояла на учете в соответствующих медицинских учреждениях и не имела диагноза, связанного с вирусом иммунодефицита человека,” – добавили в МВД России.
Материалы уголовного дела направили в суд для рассмотрения по существу.
