A Delray Beach man (X) is facing a felony charge after police accused him of failing to disclose his HIV status to another person, according to a probable cause affidavit.

According to the Delray Beach Police Department, the investigation began after an individual contacted police in August 2026 and alleged that X knew or suspected he was HIV-positive but had not disclosed that information. X denied having previously been diagnosed, according to the affidavit.

Investigators later conducted a controlled phone call with X in September as part of the case. During that conversation, the affidavit says X maintained that he had not previously been told he had HIV.

Police obtained a search warrant for Jules’ medical records Sept. 30. Investigators said they received approximately 390 pages of records from the Florida Department of Health on Oct. 7. According to the affidavit, police concluded from those records that X knew of his HIV status and had been informed of disclosure requirements.

Based on the investigation, police said they found probable cause to charge X with one felony count.
