US: Man charged with “reckless conduct by a person with HIV” for spitting at police officer

A 37 year-old man of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked police officers during an altercation at CVS on Turner McCall Blvd.

Police said that officers were dispatched to the store following an altercation with another man.  Reports added that the man began to use profane and racial language before spitting at police.  He then attempted to headbutt an officer and a witness.   Then, while being placed in the patrol car, he spat on a police officer.

He is charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, reckless conduct by a person with HIV, three counts obstruction and probation violation.
